Day 29 Back to where it all began, in our 'taking the scenic route to the beach!'

This morning we got up to  the view of a mist rising from the Bogan River. A chilly morning start, as we chatted before we headed into town for fuel but the set up at the BP wasn't going to work, so we said our goodbyes and had our hugs, and kids, yes I did tear up (my children always mock my sentimental eye leakages). We headed off as a convoy for the last time, and as we reached Nevertire, David and Brenda turned off to head home, and then a little further down the road at Narromine, Ian and Meredith turned off to head south, and we were back to driving solo. from this point i had to decide for myself where i was going... but the bus knew the way home from here , though i was tempted to turn around ... but after 10 days of 500-700km per day, im getting  a little weary. time to go back to work for a break. Ha!

The red dirt soon became brown, the towns got closer together, the oncoming driver waves and two finger Aussie driver salute ceased, traffic got heavier and crazier (witnessed an idiot narrowly avoid a head on from stupidity and impatience) and traffic lights appeared again.  We stopped at Lucknow for a break and lunch, and then continued on towards home, finally pulling into the driveway at 4.30pm and finding our younger sons polishing Matt's car. not out of love, callum polished his next to mine and the polish sprayed all over my car, and it dried and they couldnt wash it off, so they had to polish mine too!

The dogs were very excited to have us home, and only one cushion, a beanbag, and my sneakers were destroyed, and various places in my garden now have holes!

We feel incredibly blessed and privileged to have had the time off work and the ability to do this travel and also maintain my medical care and IV nutritional needs. We saw some amazing parts of our spectacular country, met some inspiring people and had lots of fun and laughs, and memories created with some good mates, whilst travelling in style. We hope our sharing of photos and stories of our adventures inspires you to get out there and have fun and see and experience all that Australia has to offer too. We loved taking the scenic route to the beach and look forward to more adventures in the future. it's always great travelling this great country and seeing places we havent seen before. cant wait to get out again.
