Day 2 - Hay to Renmark

Today we were awoken by the crows in the trees above. We drove around Hay, then briefly enjoyed the silo /water tower art, reading the amazing WW II survival  stories of the 5 locals featured in the art. It was so sad to read that as POW's,  they were rejected and shamed by the Australian society of its time, for being captured and being a POW, and they rarely shared what they had been through. Yet these amazing people endured such horrible conditions, torture and witnessed unspeakable things, for the sake of their country. A challenging read and brilliant art.

We then hit the road to Balranald, and on arrival, happened to find another Clipper club member filling up their Clipper. So we then joined up with this 3 Clipper group and made it a convoy of 4. Travelling as a convoy makes it that much more enjoyable, and a sight to behold as you roll through the towns, always a headturner. After washing down the Clippers in a truckwash, we then headed to Mildura, where stopped for lunch and a stroll around town and to the Murray river. From there we headed to Renmark, and due to quarrantine restrictions, had to head to the local shops for fresh fruit and veggies to last for the next few weeks.

We then arrived at our riverside caravan park, and joined our fellow Clipper club friends for a happy hour and dinner in the facilities at the park. It was an enjoyable evening to catch up a years worth of news with our fellow Clipper friends. Another beautiful sunny day, but chilly start.

Also found a mini 850 for Jol, not his colour scheme though...
