This morning we headed into the shops to Australia Post, hoping to collect the alternator. We had been asking the auto electrician that we bought it through, for a tracking number. From the brief few searches by the staff member, they couldn’t find anything. They told us that they don’t do any deliveries in Broome and unless we got the tracking, they couldn’t help us. So we left disappointed and frustrated. Matt called the auto electrician again and asked again for tracking or connote, as we really didn’t know if it had been sent by a courier or through Australia Post. The auto electrician had to contact the manufacturer of the alternator, as they had been the ones who sent it to us. But they were not getting back to the auto electrician. So all we could do was wait to hear. We returned to the caravan park and Matt tidied up the boot and I just tried to do some crosswords and puzzles. I called Broome hospital pharmacy and spoke with my contact and my TPN was all there and waiting for me. I explained the situation about our broken down bus, and she said she would bring it out to me. So a little ray of sunshine for our day. The pharmacist came shortly later with the 7 boxes of my nutrition and medications, delivered straight into Bridgets fridge. ❤️
We finally heard back after 2pm that it had been sent by Team Global Express and the tracking said it had been rejected by the caravan park office back in June, and had been taken back to the depot (it was disappointing that despite organising with the caravan park staff for the parcel to be sent there, only for this to happen). So Matt then madly called the depot and fortunately someone answered and they did still have the parcel, but they close at 2pm and it was now 2.15pm. We explained the need to get the parcel and Ian promptly took us over and we were able to get the alternator, thanks to the staff who were willing to stay back that bit longer to help us.
So happy to report that the alternator is now in Bridget and working, and we were able to find some belts that will fit for now. Many thanks to Ian, who had already driven around and found a company that sold a whole lot of auto parts, including the belts, as he had needed one for Trailways. Phew! Such a relief to have Bridget drivable again. Just to add to the day, when preparing my TPN fluids bag, that you roll to open up the chambers to mix the different components, the bag burst and sticky TPN fluid went everywhere. 😩. Not what we needed today. We had a group dinner together, to make plans for the next few days. Sorry no photos for today, we were too busy sweeping Broome. Thanks to anyone who prayed for the situation.
